GameCamp! 2010 at Gemini School
(for ages 10-18)
July 12th-16th, July 19th-23rd, July 26th-30th,
This summer we have partnered with GameCamp! to offer students an opportunity to explore a future career in game design and art. GameCamp! is a summer program that introduces students to game development as a career. These Gemini hosted Game Camps will focus on the Art and Design aspects of video game development.

Summer Art Camp for budding Artists
(for ages 9 to 14)
August 2nd to August 6th 2010 - 9:00am to 4:00pm
One week of creative fun designed to bring out your child’s natural artistic curiosity. Our projects will inspire your child to experiment using creative thinking and problem solving skills and teach them about art and art techniques. Projects will include some or all of the following: cartooning, drawing, sketching, painting, sculpting, animal drawings etc.
Fee for the week is $495 all material included.
Lunch is NOT provided - children must bring packed lunches.
Snacks and drinks will be available.

Concept Art for Videogames Series:
Week I: Composition and Layout – July 12th-15th 6pm-9:30pm
Week II: Environment and Props – July 19th-22nd 6pm-9:30pm
Week III: Character Development – July 26th-29th 6pm-9:30pm
An introduction to the world of concept art in the videogame industry. Learn how characters and environments are created from professional concept artists. Basic Photoshop literacy required.
Learn the basics of Photoshop,
August 2nd-5th 6pm-9:30pm
An introduction to Adobe Photoshop for creating, manipulating and preparing creative images for print and web output. Gain understanding of resolution and pixel depth. Basic computing literacy required.
Learn to Model with 3D Studio MAX,
August 9th-12th 9am-1pm
This class will introduce students to the world of 3d and 3D Studio Max specifically. We’ll work on learning the basics toward making simple models and texture maps. Basic computing literacy required.
Learn to Model with Z-Brush,
August 9th-12th 6pm-9:30pm
This class will introduce students to Z-Brush: the digital sculpting and painting program that has revolutionized the 3D industry with its powerful features and intuitive workflows. Basic computing literacy required.
Digital Painting,
August 16th-19th 9:30am-1pm
Students will be encouraged to expand their creativity with Corel Painter 11, the most inventive digital painting software on the market. Using a subject of their choice, students will be guided through the Painter interface to create their own digital masterpieces. Basic Photoshop literacy required.
Painting Landscapes Series:
Week I: landscape painting in acrylics – August 9th-12th 10am-1pm
Week II: landscape painting in acrylics – August 16th-19th 6pm-9pm

Discover and strengthen your painting skills. You will begin to approach painting with confidence and understand color and how to apply acrylic paint to develop a firm foundation for future work. This course is ideal for minimal to advanced experience.
